WHAT MAKES LONG POINT SPECIAL
Long Point Light, built in 1875, stands at the absolute tip of Cape Cod, marking the dangerous Race Point area with its distinctive green light. This 38-foot white tower is accessible only by an extremely challenging 2+ mile walk through soft sand, making it Cape Cod's most difficult lighthouse to reach.
The lighthouse displays a rare green light, unusual among Cape Cod lighthouses, helping mariners distinguish it from other beacons in the area. Its remote location at the very end of the Cape's curving arm offers unparalleled views but requires serious commitment to reach.
Important Note: This is the most challenging lighthouse access on Cape Cod. Only attempt if you're in good physical condition and prepared for a strenuous beach hike.
