WHAT MAKES BASS RIVER SPECIAL
Bass River Light, built in 1855, is unique among Cape Cod lighthouses as it now serves as a private residence while maintaining its historic lighthouse appearance. The 44-foot white tower with distinctive red roof can be viewed from the street and nearby beaches, offering visitors a chance to see a well-preserved lighthouse in a residential setting.
Located at the mouth of Bass River between Dennis and Yarmouth, this lighthouse guided vessels into one of Cape Cod's important harbors during the 19th century maritime boom.
